Education
I earned a master’s degree in Social Work from North Carolina Central University in Durham, North Carolina in 2013. I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker Associated in North Carolina and License Clinical Addiction Specialist Associate in North Carolina. I served over twenty years in the United States Armed Forces, retiring from the United States Army in 2019. I have worked in the mental health field since 2010 and in various capacities as qualified mental health professional. My experience includes working with parents, children, couples, families, and military service who struggle with family issues, parenting and discipline issues, depression, anxiety, stress, relational issues, past abuse issues, and low self-esteem.

POPULATIONS SERVED
I provide services to adolescents, individuals, couples, and families. I have had the opportunity to work with a wide range of clinical issues form difficulty coping with current stressors, grief issues, spiritual conflicts, and adjustment issues to more chronic mental health problems such as major depression, PTSD, anxiety Disorders, and chronic substance abuse/dependency and all types of addiction to include food, sex, gambling, and pornography. The role of the therapist/counselor is to help individuals identify and solve problems while actively listening and providing insight to do this. I have training in Motivational Interviewing, Cognitive Behavior Therapy, and Problem-Solving Skills Training. I utilize play therapy techniques as needed. Although the mental health diagnoses vary, all clients are looking for support, validation, and help making changes in their thoughts, feelings and behaviors.
