If you live long at all, you will face parts of life that make you feel extremely desperate.
Maybe it’s the death of a loved one…
Maybe it’s a loss of employment with few (if any) life savings to fall back on…
Maybe it’s heartbreak in learning of infidelity…
But whatever it is that you’re going through right now, like all of us, your heartbreak is real.
But even in our darkest moments, in our darkest hours, in our darkest thoughts… there’s a purpose.
Here are three of them:
Hardship reminds you of who you are. If you’re not strongly rooted in who you are, your circumstances or your environment can force you to see yourself as others see you and that is not always positive. But when you truly understand yourself, it doesn’t matter what other label another person puts on you, you can stand strong in who you are. We are easily influenced by our surroundings. The hardships remind us of who we really are and that’s incredibly important as we navigate through this world.
Hardships make you stronger. The fact of the matter is that we we never know how strong we are, until we are faced with difficulties. Sure having a Netflix and chill night with your boo, or playing Fortnite with your children can be relaxing and fun. But it doesn’t push you to reach beyond your capacity for what you thought you could do. But facing hardships makes you realize what you truly have and realizing what you truly have, helps you to realize the challenges that you can overcome. Your hardship, no matter how bad it might feel at this time, is your gift that was given to you to show you your strongest version of yourself. This is true, even in the most desolate of circumstances.
Hardships teach you to rely on your inner faith. The fact of the matter is, the harder the hardship, the less control you have to overcome the hardship by yourself. You see, there are times in life when even the most resourceful person must reach new levels to overcome their challenges. Faith is personal to each individual, but it’s a very real concept that just emphasizes the importance of believing as a predecessor for achieving. The truth of the matter is you can’t achieve anything if you don’t see yourself achieving it first. And sometimes, it’s hardship that helps us to realize this important concept.
Whatever the hardship is that you’re facing right now, relying on your inner faith will help you through it.
